How can I transfer my backup?

At Holdfire we utilize cPanel and WHM for hosting account management. One of the nice features in cPanel is the ability to generate a full backup of your hosting account. This feature not only backups your files, but your entire cPanel which includes subdomains, ftp accounts, MySQL databases, statistics logs, and more.

While we do offer transferring your accounts for free, you are welcome to transfer some accounts on your own. The following process is very short, but will require contacting us to finish the process.

  • Log into the cPanel account that you would like transferred.
  • Navigate to the "Files" section and click on "Backup."
  • If you want to transfer your entire cPanel account, you will need to click on "Download or Generate Full Website Backup."
  • The following are details that you will need to enter in:
    • In the drop down menu, select "Remote FTP Server"
    • Fill in your current email address if it is not filled in already
    • In remote server, you may enter in the hostname of your server (eg: dharma.holdfire.net, flame.holdfire.net)
    • The remote user is your cPanel username with Holdfire
    • Your password will be your cPanel password with Holdfire
  • Once you receive an email that your backup has completed (and you see no errors in the email), you will need to submit a support ticket requesting for your cPanel account to be restored and added to your [reseller] account.
