How do I flush my DNS cache?

Most DNS clients cache the results of name (server) requests. By caching the DNS, this speeds up the process of regular web browsing, rather than having to make new requests each time.

Because of this cache, there are times when a bad entry will be saved. To resolve it you either can flush the DNS cache or you can simply wait up to 24-48 hours for it to be dropped from the cache.

Flush DNS In Windows:

You will need to open up command prompt. This can be opened by going to run, and typing in cmd. While in command prompt you will type the following:

ipconfig /flushdns

Flush DNS In Mac OS X:

You will need to open up Terminal. This can be opened by going to Applications > Utilities > Terminal or cmd+space and type in Terminal. While in Terminal you will type the following:

dscacheutil -flushcache
